Introducing Flashcards as a Microlearning Tool
Our first microlearning feature focuses on flashcards, a classic microlearning tool. With flashcards, users will engage in focused learning moments, reinforcing recently studied key concepts within seconds.
Upon completing a lecture, new questions will be automatically generated based on the lecture's key concepts, and a selection of cards will be displayed on the next day.
Users should think of an answer and verify the solution on the back of the cards.
Since this is not an exam, but a game to help learners, complete honesty is encouraged.
Spaced Repetition with Flashcards
Flashcards utilize spaced repetition, where correct answers advance the card to the next level, while incorrect answers reset it to the initial level. Learners review Level 1 cards daily, Level 2 every two days, Level 3 every four days, and so forth, with intervals doubling for each subsequent level. Once a flashcard reaches Level 5 and is correctly reviewed, it is retired.
Impact on Skill Scores and Progress
Learners' responses to flashcards do not affect their skill scores or overall progress. The primary influence lies in their ability to retain information. Therefore, honest responses are crucial, trusting the process to maximize learning retention.
