This article discusses the information you can find on the Analytics screen. The Analytics screen is available in enterprise accounts. You must be an administrator or a team manager to access this screen.
This article contains the following sections:
Analytics screen
The Analytics screen shows how much time members, teams, and your whole company have spent on learning activities.
Use the filter at the top of the screen to limit the data to certain teams or members. You can also set a date range to limit the data.
Administrators can include any teams or members in the analytics data. Team managers can include only teams where they are the managers and only members on those teams.
Once you set these data filters they stay in place until you change them or leave the screen. You can navigate through different tabs in the Analytics without the data filters changing.
When you open the Analytics screen, the Overview tab is open by default.
Overview Tab
The following graphic shows an example Overview tab on the Analytics screen:
On the Overview tab, you see the following sections:
- Overall consumption
- Started activities and Completed activities
- courses
- Leaderboard
Overall consumption
This section of the Overview tab displays how much time the selected members spent on training during the specified period. Different content types appear in different colors.
Above the graph, on the right, is a cumulative total time and a percentage comparison. The percentage compares the current period to the immediate past period of the same length. For example, if the graph shows data for the last 7 days, the percentage shows how the most recent 7 days compares to the 7 days immediately prior.
Just below the total and percentage comparison, you can also find a switch to control whether the graph shows cumulative data.
Hover your mouse over the graph to see the detailed information for that date.
Click a content type from those details to open a detail panel for that content type on that date.
Click the X in the upper right corner of the pane to close it. Click the title of a piece of content to go even further into specific information from the period you specified, as in the example below.
Click Back to Overview to close the detail view.
Started activities and Completed activities
The Started activities and Completed activities section shows the number of training activities of each content type started and completed during the period you specified in the filter.
Click a content type to open a detail panel. You can sort the data in this panel by clicking the column headings.
Just like the detail panel discussed earlier in this article, here you can click the heading titles to sort the table or the title of a training activity to access deeper details. Click the X in the upper right corner of the detail panel to close it again.
Note: Occasionally, the number of activities completed is greater than the number of activities started. When this happens, it just means that some of the completed activities were started before the date range you set in the filter.
courses
This section of the Overview tab displays the amount of time the members you specified spent on courses during the period.
Hover your mouse over a point on the graph to see detailed information, and click the point on the graph to open a detail panel.
Leaderboard
The Leaderboard section simply shows who consumed the most training content over the period you specified in the filter. Click the Teams tab to see teams ranked. Click the Members tab to see the members ranked.
Courses, Exams, Labs, Quizzes, Resources, and courses Tabs
Each of the remaining tabs focuses on a specific content type. They use the same filter at the top of the screen, and all contain the same sections:
- Overall Consumption: Similar to the section of the same name on the Overview tab. This version of the graph shows the consumption of the specific content type.
-
Engagement members: Shows the number of members who consumed this content type in the last week (for the Weekly number) or last month (for the Monthly number).
Important: The filter you set at the top of the screen does not affect these values. - Started: The number of members who started a piece of content of this type during the period you specified.
- Completed: The number of members who complete a piece of content of this type during the period you specified.
- Members: This section shows a list of all the members who interacted with training content of this type during the period you specified.
- Contents: This section shows a list of the training content of this type that your members interacted with during the period you specified.
