Job Role Paths
In early 2021, QA introduced a special kind of Training Plan we call a Job Role Path. Each curated Job Role Path is named after the kind of job title the learner wants to pursue, such as Cloud Architect or Software Engineer.
Individuals can find Job Role Paths in the training library to assign to themselves, and team managers in enterprises can assign the Job Role Paths to team members. The training in a Job Role Path helps the learner prepare for a job with that title.
The following graphic shows an example of a Job Role Path available through the training library.
Job Roles
Now, almost 2 years later, QA has introduced a new feature for enterprises with a similar name: Job Roles.
Like Job Role Paths, the names of Job Role sounds like job titles. However, unlike Job Role Paths, Job Roles are not content. Instead, Job Roles are components of a Career Path and a tool in the Skills Readiness Solution.
A member's Job Role is their current title or role in your organization. Since they are not content, you don't find Job Roles in the training library.
Team managers use the Job Role to assign Programs of curated training content, but the content in that Program varies depending on the Smart Skills associated with the Job Role and the proficiency level a person with the Job Role needs in each skill. In other words, the Job Role is not, itself, content.
The following graphic shows an example of the matrix of Smart Skills and proficiency levels for the Job Roles in a Career Path.
