What is the Lab AI Assistant?

Lab Assistant is a brand-new BETA AI chatbot integrated into select code labs, providing personalized support and feedback as you learn. You can ask questions, get help finding bugs, request code explanations, and more!

How can I access and use the Labs AI Assistant?

Through the Training Library, you can explore our hands-on labs featuring the Lab Assistant. On the hands-on lab page, you'll find a Lab Assistant widget in the top right corner, indicating the availability of the AI Assistant for that lab.

From this page, you can begin your lab by clicking the "Start Lab" button. You'll then be directed to your lab session page, where you'll see the steps needed to complete your lab.

On the right side of the lab session page, you'll find a floating Lab Assistant widget. Clicking this widget will open the Lab AI Assistant, where you'll need to accept the terms (first time only).

Now that you have the Lab AI Assistant open, you are able to use the suggested prompts like; “Explain a code segment”, “Find a bug in my code”, “I have a question about this lab” or prompt the assistant with your own suggestions.

Here is an example of the “I have a question about this lab” prompt being used to ask what is the next step to complete the lab. We aim to make labs a meaningful educational experience, so there is a limit of 10 questions per session. Pre-set questions and the bot's answers are not included in this count!
