This article covers the kinds of custom content you can include in a custom course, and links to articles with step-by-step procedures. You create custom courses in Content Engine, which is available to enterprise accounts. Any user in an enterprise account can create custom content and manage their own creations, but only administrators can publish the content.

Custom course Contents
Like all courses in the QA training library, custom courses bring together courses, hands-on labs, exams, and resources on a related topic. A course helps members by offering a single tool where the member completes the steps rather than having to find all the component parts individually.
Within your custom course, you can mix training content that you create with content that QA delivers. For example, you might mix a custom course on security at your company with delivered deep-dive training into the security technologies from the training library.
You can also tailor delivered training materials for your particular environment. For example, you might customize a hands-on lab to use configurations from your particular technology stack.

In Content Engine, you can create the following types of content to include in your course:
- Custom hands-on labs
-
Custom Exams
Tip: You can also use Content Engine to create the questions to include in the exams, but you cannot include questions directly in a course. The questions you create must go into an exam first. - Custom Resources
The QA training library contains many pieces of content called "courses." Unlike other content types, though, Content Engine doesn't have a way for you to make a custom course. Instead, you can create a custom resource. You can upload things like slides, documents, or videos to be custom resources. When you include those resources in a course, the experience for the learner is similar to a delivered course.
Using Custom courses
After you create your custom course, you can make it available for your members to find in the training library in the custom categories that you can set up. As part of creating the custom course, you choose the Library Placement where you want it to appear.
You can also include a custom course in a custom training plan. A training plan brings together one or more courses and exams, while also giving you the power to assign the content to a team or individual and set a schedule of when the training should be complete.
