When you create custom resources, exams, or hands-on labs in Content Engine, you create content that is specific to your organization. A Training Plan, however, is not content itself. Instead, a Training Plan is a tool you use to aggregate training content that you want teams or individuals to complete on the timeline that you set up in the Training Plan.
When you choose an existing group of courses and exams, choose a timeline, and assign it to a team or individual, that's called creating and assigning a Training Plan. This process does not require Content Engine. See the procedure in Creating a Training Plan for Enterprise.
When you create a new group of courses and exams for your Training Plan, that's called creating a Training Plan template. You can create a Training Plan template that contains custom content that your team created in Content Engine, standard content delivered with QA, or a mixture of both. You can complete this procedure in Content Engine. See the procedure in Creating a Training Plan for Enterprise.
It is also possible to create a Training Plan template without using Content Engine. See Creating a Custom Training Plan without Content Engine for Enterprise.
