Are Skill Profiles affected by hands-on labs?

Most hands-on labs and lab challenges include a validation step that affects your Skill Profile. These labs work by assessing your ability to execute and validate whether you have correctly completed the appropriate action or actions.

If you end the lab before the validation step, it does not affect your skill scores. Playground labs do not affect skill scores at all.

The impact of a lab on your score depends on several factors, the most relevant being:

• The difficulty of the lab: Lab challenges provide higher scores than hands-on labs.
• How many attempts you took to successfully complete the lab: Completing a lab on the first attempt is rewarded.
• Your current skill score before you began the lab: For example, an advanced user receives a lower increase than a beginner user.
