What is CSOD?

Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) is a comprehensive platform that combines learning, development, and talent management. It helps over 6,000 organizations worldwide integrate people’s growth with business success.

What is the goal of the CSOD Integration?

The goal of this integration is to provide a seamless learning experience by allowing learners to access best-in-class training content from QA within CSOD. This ensures that all available content in QA Self-Learning Platform is automatically synchronized with CSOD, and learners’ completions are also synced back. This centralizes training data, making it easier for L&D divisions and managers to track and manage learner progress.

How to activate the CSOD Integration?

Enabling the CSOD integration currently takes place behind the scenes, and you will be able to view it once it’s completed (under Integrations Settings).

Here’s how to get started:

1. Get in touch with your account manager or the support team.
2. Provide the necessary credentials: You will need to provide API keys or credentials for both CSOD and QA Self-Learning Platform.
3. Configure the integration: The support team will guide you through configuring the integration settings on both platforms.
4. Simulate the first sync: The team will simulate the first sync of content and consumption data.
5. Validate the data: You will need to validate the data received to ensure everything is correct.
6. Activate the integration: Once validated, the integration will be activated, and data synchronization will begin.

How does the integration work?

The integration uses an SFTP connection provided by the CSOD instance to keep users’ content and activities synchronized. Once a day, two CSV files (Content Catalog and User Completion) are sent to the SFTP server. The CSOD instance processes these files to update or mark content as outdated and to record completions based on the information shared.

User Flows and Seamless Authentication

By logging into CSOD, learners can find the content best suited to their needs and navigate to the QA Self-Learning Platform to start consuming the content with a single click. Thanks to Single Sign-On (SSO), authentication is seamless, and learners are automatically logged into the platform. If SSO is not configured correctly, learners will need to re-login before accessing the content.

Embedded Player

The embedded player feature allows learners to access courses directly from the CSOD platform without navigating to other content. This ensures a focused learning experience and prevents users from getting lost in multiple platforms. Once the training is completed, learners can return to the initial platform (CSOD).

Is it possible to customize the integration?

Yes, you can customize the integration by choosing which content types (Courses, Lessons, Quizzes, Exams, Labs) to sync in CSOD. For unique use cases, please reach out to our support team, who will analyze the request and escalate if needed. We can then evaluate if it can be added to our roadmap.
