This article discusses the integration of the EdCast Learning Experience Platform (LXP) with the QA Learning Platform. You must be an admin to access the screen in the QA's Learning Platform where you can enable the integration. You also need administrator access to your EdCast Cornerstone account.
EdCast Integration Goal
QA self-paced content will surface in your EdCast instance to create a centralized hub for training. When accessing EdCast, your learners will discover best-in-class training from QA on various topics, all through a seamless experience.
All available self-paced content in the QA Learning platform is automatically synced on EdCast and learners' activities are automatically synced back. This also enables viewing all the training completed in one centralized location, without switching between different platforms to access and aggregate all tracking data.
Data that QA shares with EdCast
The EdCast integration consists of two main data exchanges:
- Content Registry: This contains the full course catalog available in the QA platform (CA & CS content). The content is represented in EdCast as a "Card".
- User completion: This represents the list of courses each user has completed on the QA platform.
User flows and seamless authentication
Thanks to Single Sign On (SSO), authentication is seamless and automatically logs learners into the QA platform to access content instantly without needing to log in again.
Note: This feature is only available when you configure 'SSO' correctly on the QA platform side. Otherwise, the learner will need to re-login again before accessing the content.
Embedded Player
This new feature in our platform enables you to provide the best experience for your learners while managing their training courses. When learners open a course in EdCast's platform, they will only see the player without the ability to navigate to other content. The user will not get lost accessing multiple platforms with different navigation experiences, but once the training is completed, the learner can return to the initial platform (EdCast).
How to request the EdCast integration
QA must activate the EdCast integration for your account. To do so, we need API credentials for your EdCast instance. Once QA has your EdCast authentication information, setting up the integration is quick. You might like to test your integration in a staging environment before activating it in production, in which case the testing time is up to you.
