This document explains lab playgrounds in QA. This feature is available to personal and enterprise QA accounts.
Important: Some labs may not be available during the free trial period.

What Are Playground Labs
Lab playgrounds are a kind of lab — QA's interactive learning tool. Playground labs provide a safe and secure sandbox environment for you to explore your own ideas, follow along with QA courses, or answer your own questions through experimentation. While other types of labs have associated objectives, playground labs simply offer a chance to explore for an extended period of time without needing to install the software.
You do not need your own account credentials to use the playground labs. When you start a playground lab, the system launches all the necessary resources and starts the timer. The technology you are learning about appears on your screen.
What to Expect From Playground Labs
Like all content, playground labs offer detailed information before you begin the lab. You can find the name and description, plus the amount of time allotted to use the lab.
Because playground labs are free-form and do not have associated objectives, they do not appear on your skill profile. However, enterprise users can include playground labs in a course. Including a playground lab in a course can be useful to provide a real environment for learning to try out and following along with the courses.
It's important to note that while playground labs offer a more open environment, the student account you are given access to will still contain restrictions so that you can not deviate from the prescribed topic.
How to Use a Playground Labs
You find playground labs as you discover labs on topics that you want to learn about. Tip: When you search for a lab on a topic, you can use the filters on the left side of the screen to limit the results to hands-on labs.
Use the following steps to start a playground lab:
-
Click the playground lab that you want to start. A page appears with detailed information about the playground lab.
-
Click on the Start Lab button. The lab appears and the timer begins.
-
When you finish experimenting in the lab, you can return to the labs list.
